GLAD Partnership STEAM Days
This year, La Cañada Engineering Club partnered with GLAD, the Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness, to bring STEAM education to students who don't typically have access to it. Across two STEAM Days, we worked with over 60 hard of hearing and deaf children, giving them a hands-on introduction to the world of science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
Over the course of both events, students got to see our robot up close and watch it in action, learn the basics of Scratch coding, and take part in a series of engineering activities designed to spark curiosity and build foundational skills. The goal was simple: make STEAM feel accessible, exciting, and fun for kids who deserve that opportunity just as much as anyone.
We're grateful to GLAD for making this partnership possible, and proud of our members who showed up to make both days a success.
