Annual E-Waste Drive Breaks Records
This year marked our 17th annual E-Waste Drive, and it was our best one yet. We broke previous records by collecting over 40 tons of e-waste, keeping it out of landfills and oceans and making sure it was disposed of properly instead.
40 tons is a lot to put into perspective. That's old TVs, computers, phones, cables, and appliances that community members dropped off rather than tossed in the trash, and it adds up fast. Every year we wonder if we'll top the last one, and every year the community finds a way to make it happen.
It wasn't a easy day. Sorting and hauling that volume of material takes a lot of hands and a lot of hours, and our members put in the work from start to finish. We also couldn't run this without La Canada High School, which has continued to give us the space to make it happen year after year.
Thank you to everyone from LCEC and the community who showed up. 17 years in, and we're still setting records.
