Robots
Within our award-winning FIRST pipeline, we support a total of seven robotics teams for kids in grades 4-12. All teams are hosted inside Room 604 at La Canada High School, familiar to club members under the moniker of "the shop." A typical season for the Blockheads begins and ends in mid-May every year, and registration for our robotics teams begins soon after on our organization's platform, HelloClub. For more information on registration for the 2025-2026 FIRST AGE season, check here.
Our ultimate goal is to inspire long-term interest in STEAM in students throughout Los Angeles. As a well-established partner of FIRST, we are devoted to growing engagement within FIRST programs throughout the Los Angeles community and the world, one block at a time.
Through 2429's 18 years of perseverance and dedication, we have created a cohesive team that places an importance on STEAM within our community. We have learned that FRC is not only about the robots that we build, but the relationships we form and the impression we make on those around us. As members continue to join and graduate from La Cañada Engineering Club, all Blockheads remain a part of one team and one family. In 2025, following the end of our season, 33 alumni re-registered to stay involved with us. That's the kind of impact we make on students in our club.
