Letter of Intent -

Alyssa Konakov

Dear La Cañada Engineering Club Members,
As the year comes to an end and the temperature begins to rise, the time to vote for your next LCEC cabinet members is here. My name is Alyssa Konakov and I am running to be your next President.

Now you may be thinking to yourself, what experience do I have with making events and outreaching into our community? Well, I have no fear walking up to a random person and asking them about FIRST and LCEC. But on a serious note, why should you vote for Alyssa Konakov to be your President? This past season, I had the honor of serving as your Director of Outreach! Whether I was organizing STEAM nights, writing and editing our IMPACT award essays, or presenting with the cardboard Blocks, I’ve done my best to support our club’s mission and help us shine within the broader community. Prior to this, I have served as your Director of Media, capturing moments through photos and making our first ever TikToks.

Outside of leadership positions, I have mentored an FLL team for the past two years (making it to state championships last year) and I aim to continue to help with FLL for the years to come. These leadership positions have taught me so much, not just about outreach or media, but about collaboration, initiative, and what it really means to be part of something bigger than yourself. Whether I was introducing companies to our STEAM Fair or documenting our team’s progress, I felt myself growing with every experience. And through it all, LCEC became more than just a club, it became a second home. That sense of community, of purpose, of shared passion? That’s something I want every current and future member to experience. So why am I running to be your President? I want to make sure that your voice is heard and that your experience in LCEC is as meaningful as mine has been.

One of my biggest goals is to maintain a truly open line of communication, where feedback is welcomed, ideas are celebrated, and everyone feels like they belong. Aside from my experience with LCEC, I believe that I have the necessary skills to be your next President! Whether I was volunteering at competitions or staying dedicated to every leadership position I have been in, my drive and dedication are aspects of my personality that I plan on taking into this new cabinet position.

While serious aspects are required to be a successful President, or for any leadership position in general, I feel that having the ability to still have endless fun and excitement, alongside working hard, is a great ability that I have. As many of you have probably seen, I am constantly laughing and making others laugh. With my extroverted personality, I plan on ensuring that our events are teeming with the FIRST core values of fun and teamwork! I personally believe that all other FIRST core values come as a result of these two, and by emphasizing these, I feel that I can influence more people to attend and drink the FIRST kool-aid.

So, as you cast your votes for next year’s leadership, I hope you’ll consider me! Remember to sign it off, vote Konakov!
